Capacity building of professionals that have powers of intervention in the area of domestic violence continues to be one of the key components of the WLC strategy.
The existence of harmful stereotypes of domestic violence and certain attitudes and practices amongst the professional groups endanger the safety of the victims of domestic violence. Hence, WLC continues to invest efforts in the training of patrol officers, police officers, prosecutors and judges, criminal prosecution officers, forensic doctors, probation officers.
The aim of these trainings is to help change the attitude of the police towards domestic violence, understand its origin and transform the way of thinking among professionals. At the same time, we aim at promoting the cross-sector approach of domestic violence cases, the cooperation and communication between professionals during their response as well as referring the identified cases to specialised services.
